Accessing footage just became easier with our new self-service Video Request feature! The steps below will walk you through using this feature.

Navigating the Self-Service Video Request Feature

The Geotab integration is located within your Geotab platform! If you cannot locate the SureCam add in, please pass this along to your Geotab administrator so they can make adjustments to your user settings.
- Go to your Geotab platform.
- Locate the SureCam tab in the list on the left side of the platform.
- Note: You can find it by locating our aperture logo or by expanding the list with the arrow at the bottom left.

First you will see a list of trips to pull footage from with the ability to filter and sort.
- If you're looking for a specific vehicle, try using the search bar in the top right of the SureCam tab to locate it!

Select the desired trip you're looking for grab footage from.
- Be sure that the trip start, and end time will include the footage you are looking for.

Next, request a Video Preview or indicate that you already know what you’re looking for.

Video Preview: A time lapse from a trip, up to 20-minutes in duration.
- Should be used when you need to preview footage to pinpoint where in the trip the incident of interest occurred.
- Video Request: If you know exactly what you’re looking for, such as a specific time or intersection.

Video Preview: A time lapse from a trip, up to 20-minutes in duration.
- Follow the steps below to request and view Video Previews and / or to submit Video Requests.
How-To: Request a Video Preview
- Click the “I need a preview” button.

Select whether you are requesting footage from Camera 1 or Camera 2.
- Camera 1: The road facing angle
- Camera 2: If applicable (i.e., Driver Facing or Exterior Facing)
- Next, select the duration of the Preview (ranging from 1-minute to 20-minutes).

Select your Preview by clicking a starting point on the breadcrumb trail or clicking the box under "Start time" and adjusting the time at the bottom of the calendar.
- The portion of the trip for which you will receive a Preview will be highlighted orange.
- Change the Preview length to adjust the duration of the Preview.
- Once you are satisfied with the portion of the trip, click the “Request preview video” button.
Navigating to Requested Video Previews
- Click the Events tab from the left menu.

Next, click the dropdown under Event Type and select 'Preview'
- Previews which are still in the process of uploading will show ' Preview upload in progress' under Video Status.
- Previews which have completed upload will show a thumbnail of the video.

Click the thumbnail to load the Preview video.
- You can either press the play button, to play the preview slowly, or scrub through the Preview by clicking and dragging your mouse.
- Once you have determined the portion of the trip you are looking for, be sure to note the time of the event that you've found.
How-To: Submit a Video Request
- Click the “I know what I am looking for” button.
- At the top of the screen, select the duration of the video clip you would like to request (ranging from 10 seconds to 1-minute).

Select whether you are requesting footage from Camera 1 or Camera 2.
- Camera 1: The road facing angle
- Camera 2: If applicable (i.e., Driver Facing or Exterior Facing)
- Tip: Use the map to zoom in on the portion of the trip for which you would like to request footage.

Select your clip by clicking a starting point on the breadcrumb trail or clicking the box under"Start time" and adjusting the time at the bottom of the calendar.
- The portion of the trip highlighted orange will be uploaded as a full resolution video.
- Change the duration length by adjusting the Video Length slider.
- Once you are satisfied with the portion of the trip, click the Request video button.
Navigating to Video Requests
- Click the Events tab from the left menu.

Next, click the dropdown under Event Type and select 'Preview'
- Previews which are still in the process of uploading will show ' Preview upload in progress' under Video Status.

To view an uploaded Video Request, click the thumbnail under Video Status.
- Tip: Video Requests can be viewed directly in the browser, or by clicking the “Download” button in the bottom right corner.
- To close the Video Request, click the “X” in the top right corner.
