Navigating the Self-Service Video Request Feature
- After signing into VTS, click the Video Request tab from the left menu.
- First you will see a list of your vehicles, with the ability to filter and sort.
- Note the status icon next to each vehicle:
- Green indicates the vehicle is currently active, and able to upload footage.
- Blue indicates the vehicle is inactive, any requested footage will be uploaded when this vehicle is next powered on.

- Select the desired vehicle by hovering over the row, and clicking once.

On the next page, hover over the desired trip, and click once.
- Next, request a Video Preview or indicate that you already know what you’re looking for.
- Video Preview: A timelapse from a trip, up to 20-minutes in duration.
- Should be used when you need to preview footage to pinpoint where in the trip the incident of interest occurred.
- Video Request: If you know exactly what you’re looking for, such as a specific time or intersection

- Follow the steps below to request and view Video Previews and / or to submit Video Requests.
How-To: Request a Video Preview
- Click the Video Request tab from the left menu.
- First you will see a list of your vehicles, with the ability to filter and sort.
- Note the status icon next to each vehicle:
- Green indicates the vehicle is currently active, and able to upload footage.
- Blue indicates the vehicle is inactive, any requested footage will be uploaded when this vehicle is next powered on.

- Select the desired vehicle by hovering over the row, and clicking once.

On the next page, hover over the desired trip, and click once.
- Click the “I need a preview” button.
- Select whether you are requesting footage from Camera 1 or Camera 2.
- Camera 1: Road-facing camera
- Camera 2: Secondary camera (if you have one)
- Tip: Use the map to zoom in on the portion of the trip for which you would like to request footage.
- Next, select the duration of the Preview (ranging from 1-minute to 20-minutes).
- Select your Preview by clicking a starting point on the breadcrumb trail.
- The portion of the trip for which you will receive a Preview will be highlighted red.
- Change the Preview length to adjust the duration of the Preview.
- Once you are satisfied with the portion of the trip, click the “Request preview video” button.
Navigating to Requested Video Previews
- Click the Video Request tab from the left menu.
- Next, click the Preview Downloads tab.
- Previews which are still in the process of uploading, or are waiting for a vehicle to turn on, will show a loading status.
- Previews which have completed upload will show a icon.
- Click the View icon to load the Preview video.
- You can either press the play button, to play the preview slowly, or scrub through the Preview by clicking and dragging your mouse.
- Tip: Each frame of the preview will correspond to a location on the map, marked with an arrow.
- Once you have determined the portion of the trip you are looking for, ensure the preview video is paused.
- At the top, select the amount of time you would like to request from the full frame video.
- Select whether you are requesting video from Camera 1 or Camera 2.
- Click the “Request video” button and confirm.
- Note: The requested video will include 5 seconds before the frame you have selected
How-To: Submit a Video Request
- Click the Video Request tab from the left menu.
- First you will see a list of your vehicles, with the ability to filter and sort.
- Note the status icon next to each vehicle:
- Green indicates the vehicle is currently active, and able to upload footage.
- Blue indicates the vehicle is inactive, any requested footage will be uploaded when this vehicle is next powered on.

- Select the desired vehicle by hovering over the row, and clicking once.

On the next page, hover over the desired trip, and click once.
- Click the “I know what I am looking for” button.
- At the top of the screen, select the duration of the video clip you would like to request (ranging from 10 seconds to 1-minute).
- Select whether you are requesting footage from Camera 1 or Camera 2.
- Camera 1: Road-facing camera
- Camera 2: Secondary camera (if you have one)
- Tip: Use the map to zoom in on the portion of the trip for which you would like to request footage.
- Select your clip by clicking a starting point on the breadcrumb trail.
- The portion of the trip highlighted red will be uploaded as a full resolution video.
- Change the duration length by adjusting the Video Length slider.
- Once you are satisfied with the portion of the trip, click the Request video button.
Navigating to Video Requests
- Click the Video Request tab from the left menu.
- Next, click the “Video downloads” button.
- Requests that are still uploading, or waiting for a vehicle to be turned on will show a loading status bar.
- To view an uploaded Video Request, click the button.
- Tip: Video Requests can be viewed directly in the browser, or by clicking the “Download” button in the bottom right corner.
- To close the Video Request, click the “X” in the top right corner.
